The Unique Movie:
A multi-cultural group of bored college students experiencing diverse societal pains who decide to take a freakish day trip to a home-coming football game with the help of Unique, their quirky GPS only to find a series of unfortunate events cause them to realize unity is the only thing that matters.
Our movie portrays how these college scholars absorbed in their own societal issues express the need for an immediate resolve. Cherish, an African-American Independent and computer-science geek, secretly wants to separate from her wealthy African-American Republican parents. So Cherish is desperately seeking to make a name for herself and she also doesn’t want any of her friends to know her father’s a Republican.
The fun ride leaves a bitter taste in the mouths of each scholar as they air their pressing problems. Isaiah, a.k.a “Doc”, an African- American Pre-Med student, has the looming problem that any day he could loose his life just like the many other innocent African-Americans who have been randomly killed. Maximo, a Mexican Political science student, has a problem with possibly being deported to Mexico now that President Trump is in office. Then there’s Trish, a psychology major, who’s also secretly a cutter and is about to have a nervous breakdown since stressing over her urgency to find her biological parents.
After hearing each others problems, the students see the overwhelming need to make a pact to stick closer than family and to always be there for each other.. We are on a mission to make sure each of us have a proud sense of who we are!
Which brings us to the point of those with low self-esteem that can also make it hard to feel proud of yourself, and may even cause serious mental health issues.
We take note that our attention on mental health needs to be emphasized each and every minute and hour of the day. Since we all deal with bouts of depression or anxiety, every now and then and some more than others - - whether we admit it or not. It’s a part of life! However, because of bias or fear of judgment, we tend to hide our depression. Through this movie we hope you support us in bringing this awareness to the forefront.
